Mbotyi is 26km from Lusikisiki, easily accessible by car and has an excellent airstrip available at the nearby Magwa.
Goats and cattle drink from the lagoon while bathers enjoy themselves in the nearby surf. Time has stood still at Mbotyi, little has changed in the last 50 – 100 years. The locals are warm, interesting and accommodating, willing to share their piece of paradise with visitors.
Mbotyi is surrounded by dense indigenous forests, waterfalls gushing into steep gorges or down cliffs straight into the sea. The Magwa Tea Corporation with the biggest tea plantation in the southern hemisphere lies at the top of the escarpment. There are endless breathtaking views, from numerous viewpoints.

Destiny Cottage Mbotyi

Desitiny is a self catering cottage with its own covered braai area and just above the braai area is a lovely spot to enjoy a magnificent sea view.
The campsite is an upmarket venue with electricity, purified water and 24 hour security. The property is fenced and provides safe, off-road parking. The campsite has been left as natural as possible and the tent sites have been terraced for campers.
The campsite is a joint venture between the Mbotyi Community and Mbotyi River Camp Site.
Mbotyi River Lodge
Situated at the mouth of the Mbotyi River and tidal estuary is Mbotyi River Lodge. Nestled between the rolling hills, lush tropical forest and warm Indian Ocean, it is the perfect venue for anyone looking for a peaceful and tranquil holiday.
The up-market rooms in the lodge consist of en-suite double and twin bedrooms in either wooden cabins or thatch bungalows.
